Under supervision of the Director of Buffalo Traffic Violations Agency, s/he exercises a wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment regarding the School Bus Arm Enforcement Program. This is a position that provides face-to-face customer service, processes traffic tickets/citations and related documents, and maintains records, documents and information in order to meet the requirements of the agency programs. Examples of work (Illustration Only) Reviews data provided by BusPatrol America, LLC, the contracted vendor for the school bus enforcement monitoring program, with respect to vehicles overtaking a school bus that is clearly stopped and displaying a red visual stop-arm; Certifies or denies whether a violation and occurred in accordance with the data retrieved from the monitoring system; Relays data reviewed to BusPatrol, LLC., who in turn certifies or denies whether a violation has occurred and issues a notice of violation if warranted; Provides face-to-face customer service; Maintains records and files; Receives, screens, reviews and verifies documents; Search for and compile information and data; Prepares and/or issue documents and/or verify the validity of documents; Requests additional information, signature, remittance, by form, simple letter, email, or phone; Establishes new files by numbering forms, coding, preparing file folders, and compiling relevant material; Searches for and/or compiles pertinent information and data from manual and/or computer-based files, reports, publication and other documents; Refer inquiries to appropriate office or individual; Operate office machines such as photocopiers, adding machines, calculators, computer printers, typewriters and audio-visual equipment and perform simple maintenance tasks such as adding toner and paper, and changing ribbons; Performs related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications Open Competitive High School, GED or Equivalency Diploma and two (2) years responsible clerical experience. Special Requirement Possession of a current valid NYS Drivers license, Learners Permit, Non-Driver Identification card or appropriate documentation that will allow applicants to access DMV Motor Vehicle Records Search which must be presented at time of appointment and maintained during employment. NOTE: Verifiable part-time experience will be pro-rated to meet full-time experience requirements.
