Job description

Description:

We're looking for a Production/Manufacturing Technician I to join our 2nd shift production team. This entry-level role is a great starting point for someone building hands-on manufacturing skills, providing support in the fabrication, assembly, testing, inventory, and shipment of hardware systems built by OKSI. You'll work closely with experienced technicians and engineers, learning our build processes while contributing to a fast-paced, quality-driven production floor.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with tracking and organizing mechanical, electrical, and optical components, and help maintain stock levels and prepare materials for assembly
  • Follow clear, detailed instructions to assemble simple subassemblies and assist with larger builds under guidance from senior technicians
  • Perform visual inspections and basic functional tests as instructed, documenting results for review
  • Help package and label parts and products for delivery, following established handling and safety guidelines
  • Work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to learn build processes and support production needs
  • Provide hands-on help with basic prototype assembly and workspace organization during development builds
  • Maintain simple inventory logs and assembly checklists to support production records
  • Follow all safety, security, and ESD protocols in the production environment
Requirements:
  • Basic mechanical or electronic assembly skills (academic, hobbyist, or internship experience acceptable)
  • Ability to follow step-by-step work instructions accurately
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic measurement devices
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new technical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to mechanical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), or technical documentation
  • Familiarity with basic inventory tracking tools or ERP systems

Education

High school diploma or GED required; additional education in a trade or technical field desirable. Previous internship, trade school training, or part-time work in manufacturing or assembly is a plus.

Work Environment and Schedule

  • Onsite, full time position
  • Manufacturing and lab environment
  • 2nd Shift: 1400 - 2300

Pay and Benefits

  • Salary range: $20.00 - $26.00
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage fully paid by the employer for employees
  • Three weeks of vacation to start
  • Automatic company contribution to 401K, 5% of earned wages (no matching required)
  • Educational assistance and professional development opportunities
  • In-office, Torrance, CA

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have, or be eligible to obtain, a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance. You will be subject to government security investigations and must be able to access classified information. The inability to obtain a security clearance will result in you being ineligible for the position.

ITAR Requirements

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.
  • 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.
  • 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about the ITAR here.
