JOB DESCRIPTION 

This entry-level position introduces you to the fundamentals of servicing and maintaining Overhead Doors and Loading Dock equipment. As you gain experience and demonstrate initiative, you will progress toward becoming a Full-Service Field Technician. With hard work and dedication, you can expect increased responsibilities, higher earnings, and long-term career growth. Commercial Dock and Door is an industry-leading company in the Atlanta market. We are growing quickly and looking for individuals who want to build a lifelong trade.

Requirements

SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Learn and perform basic Preventative Maintenance on doors and dock equipment 
  • Assist with service, repair, and installation of Overhead Doors and Loading Docks 
  • Learn to weld, troubleshoot electrical panels, and complete mechanical repairs 
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment 
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service while on job sites 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude 
  • Experience using hand and power tools ("turning wrenches") 
  • Great attitude and willingness to learn 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working with your hands 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical, hands-on environment 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS 

High School Diploma/GED 

Please note: Technicians are required to supply their own basic hand tools (wrenches, socket sets, hammers, measuring tapes, etc) 

Must have (and maintain) a current unrestricted driver's license in good standing


WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously will full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and 

reaching, etc. Work is performed in a maintenance environment with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, 

dust, fumes, chemicals, or solvents which require knowledge of proper safety procedures. Must be able to favorably pass 

a Drug Screen, Background Check, DOT physical and lift at least 50 pounds.
