Job description

DEPARTMENT: Turf Care
REPORTS TO: Director of Agronomy/Superintendent/Asst. Superintendent
FLSA: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing the maintenance operation of the golf course and associated grounds. Adheres to all St Ives policies and procedures. This is an entry level position designed to teach the basics in overall course/grounds care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates basic mowing equipment and hand tools.
  • Performs bunker maintenance: rakes, moves sand, proper edging and pulls weeds.
  • Ensures all areas around trees, bunkers, cart paths and signs are maintained and edged.
  • Plants and waters plants/trees as necessary.
  • Watering greens and assisting with irrigation repair.
  • Maintains course set up: cup cutting, tee clean up, divot filling, trash pick up.
  • All other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to manipulate various parts and machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push, pull, or move lighter objects.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS:
  • Ability to get to work on time.
  • Active listener.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions.
  • Ability to work on Weekends and Holidays.
