Job description

Industrial Machine Builder Technician - Cleveland, OH - JOB 26-00368 Pay Range: $27.00 - $31.00/HR Full-time Permanent Position with Benefits A premier manufacturing firm on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio, to hire an Industrial Machine Maintenance Technician. This role is ideal for a self-directed professional with a strong background in mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and pneumatic systems. You will play a critical role in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing complex production machinery, combining independent execution with collaborative team training.

Responsibilities Interpret blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), and mechanical drawings to assemble complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components into industrial machinery. Read electrical schematics to accurately wire, configure, and troubleshoot industrial electrical control panels and machinery. Diagnose, isolate, and repair equipment malfunctions across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize manufacturing downtime.

Perform basic machining tasks—including drilling, tapping, grinding, and welding—to support machinery assembly and custom modifications. Maintain meticulous records of machine builds, logging parts used and any custom modifications made during production or repair. Adhere strictly to company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and operational procedures.

Protocols to ensure a safe, hazard-free industrial workspace. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Technical certification, journeyman card, or vocational training in industrial electricity/mechanics is highly preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial machinery maintenance, machinery rebuilding, or a related manufacturing field.

Proven proficiency in blueprint reading, electrical schematic interpretation, and wiring diagrams. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (both mechanical and electrical control systems). Experience using machine shop tools (welders, grinders, taps, drills).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong collaboration skills for team training. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and perform physical tasks involving bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.

Comfortable working inside tight/confined spaces and around heavy moving industrial machinery. Standard full-time hours; flexibility required for occasional evening or weekend shifts to accommodate project deadlines or emergency breakdown repairs.
