Key Responsibilities
- Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services for a student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers
- Interpret spoken language into sign language and sign language into spoken language
- Support classroom participation and access to instruction
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards
- Collaborate with school staff to support student success
- Assist in creating an inclusive educational environment
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Must meet all applicable federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to provide all required onboarding documents

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field
- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Certification
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification
- Current CPR Certification (if applicable)
- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)
- Current Health Certificate (if applicable)
