Job description

2nd Shift Maintenance Tech

Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment as well as the general upkeep of the facility.

Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics; generally acquired through technical training or through previous experience.
  • Good analytical skills; good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others and independently as job needs require.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work with chemicals.
  • Ability to wear a respirator, be in a confined space, follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Willing to certify on forklift.
  • Must actively participate in discussions of equipment, repair, and process improvements.
  • Must work in a safe and professional manner at all times
  • Incase of emergencies must be willing to work off-shifts and weekends when needed; willing to rotate on-call duties with team.

Safety and Environment Responsibilities

  • Follow company policies such that you work in a safe manner with responsibility for the environment.

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Repair equipment verify repair was effective and clean area when done.
  • Train with appropriate associates on preventative maintenance; follow-up to ensure that activities are completed correctly
  • Ensure equipment is operating in a safe manner
  • Ensure all necessary preventative maintenance is kept and up-to-date and documented
  • Work with contractors on repairing equipment from beginning to the end of the process; be present when contractors are in the facility
  • Complete all documentation as scheduled and assigned.
  • Assist in accurately tracking major/key parts for repairs.
  • 5S Maintenance areas of the facility as directed.
  • Work with team to ensure maintenance items are gathered from receiving area.

Tier 1- Assistant

  • Identify proper tools.
  • Entry level of mechanical understanding
  • Ability to handle basic repairs and PM’s
  • Willingness to learn and ability to retain knowledge

Tier 2- Entry level Tech

  • Electrical PM’s
  • Gas Welding
  • Proficient with battery tools
  • Find root cause then repair

Tier 3- Technician

  • Ability to safely work independently by themselves.
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Electric welding
  • Improve equipment efficiency.

Tire 4- Sr. Technician

  • PLC (Program Logic Controller) circuit knowledge
  • Efficiently read electrical blueprints
  • Mentor and lead team members
