Job description

Amee Bay, LLC, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician - Entry Level Electrician to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.
Position Overview:
  • Work closely with senior electricians and technicians to develop practical shipboard electrical skills.
  • Assist with the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of shipboard electrical systems and equipment.
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and other technical documentation.
  • Assist with wiring and termination of electrical panels, cabinets, junction boxes, and equipment.
  • Route, pull, identify, secure, and terminate electrical cables in accordance with drawings and installation requirements.
  • Assist with electrical testing and troubleshooting using multimeters, insulation resistance testers (Meggers), and other electrical test equipment.
  • Assist senior technicians with drilling, cutting, mounting, and modification of shipboard equipment, foundations, cableways, and related components.
  • Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and throughout work locations.
  • Receive, organize, and inventory project materials and equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Candidates must be capable of working in an active shipyard and shipboard environment, including:
  • Frequently climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
  • Working in confined or restricted spaces.
  • Working aboard vessels, including machinery spaces and other industrial environments.
  • Frequently lifting and carrying materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Working around construction activities, machinery, noise, and changing environmental conditions.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is beneficial but not required:
  • Previous shipboard or shipyard experience.
  • Electrical installation or electrical helper experience.
  • Cable pulling, cable routing, or cable termination experience.
  • Experience reading electrical drawings or schematics.
  • Familiarity with multimeters, Meggers, and basic electrical testing.
  • Experience working on U.S. Navy vessels or within a government/defense contracting environment.
  • OSHA, shipyard safety, or other relevant industry training.

Position Responsibilities:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, as required by the position.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of marine, maritime, electrical, mechanical, industrial, construction, or other relevant hands-on experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability and willingness to learn electrical installation practices, testing procedures, and shipboard requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including drug screening.

This position is located in Chesapeake, VA
The hourly wage for this position is $20 - 24/hr based on experience.
