Job description

Role: Assembler I
Location: Providence, RI (On-site)
Pay: $21–$23/hr (+$2/hr with soldering experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
Job Type: Contract (3–4 months) — likely extension; potential temp-to-perm based on attendance/reliability/quality


Job Summary

A well-established medical device manufacturing team in Providence, RI is hiring 3 Manufacturing Operator I contractors to support mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly in a regulated environment. This is an entry-level opportunity with training provided and room to grow for reliable, detail-oriented candidates.

Important: This is assembly-line manufacturing work (not machine operating). Candidates must be comfortable following procedures and written work instructions.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and sub-assembly using verbal and written instructions
  • Follow SOPs, GMP, and regulated/quality requirements
  • Complete visual, in-process, and final inspections (with guidance)
  • Maintain accurate production and assembly documentation
  • Support inventory/material handling processes as needed
  • Keep a clean and organized workstation to support quality and safety
  • Escalate issues/concerns to leads or supervisors
  • Collaborate with manufacturing/engineering teams to support continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0–1 year of manufacturing/assembly experience (or related training)
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity
  • Basic computer skills
  • Soldering experience OR willingness to learn
  • Able to work on-site in Providence, RI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device or other regulated manufacturing experience
  • Cleanroom exposure (helpful but not required)
  • Familiarity with GMP/ISO environments

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment; PPE may include disposable gowns, masks, safety glasses, hair nets, etc.
  • Regular lifting/moving of 10–30 lbs
  • Frequent standing/walking; occasional stooping/kneeling/crouching
