Position Description:
Supports mission operations by analyzing business processes, building reports, improving data quality, and helping teams use systems and data more effectively across Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. This is an entry-level analyst role designed to support reporting, process improvement, and analytical work across Microsoft, Google, and third-party systems. The role partners with school-based and engineering-focused teams to turn business needs into clear, step-by-step tasks, useful reporting, and practical solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports mission teams by gathering business needs and helping translate them into clear, actionable steps, reports, dashboards, and process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains working expertise in organizational systems and databases, supporting day-to-day administration, configuration, data integrity, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement. Creates, updates, and maintains reports, dashboards, trackers, and recurring analyses to support operational decision-making.
  • Partners with school-based staff and engineering-focused teams to understand workflows, identify pain points, and support reporting and operational needs.
  • Breaks down complex business or data problems into organized, step-by-step tasks that can be understood and acted on by different teams.
  • Communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain issues, requirements, reporting logic, and proposed solutions.
  • Reviews data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy and helps identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Assists with data modeling activities that improve reporting structure, usability, and long-term scalability.
  • Supports ad hoc analysis and recurring reporting for school operations, compliance, leadership, and mission teams.
  • Documents processes, business rules, report definitions, and system workflows to improve clarity and continuity.
  • Assists with testing system changes, validating report outputs, and confirming that changes meet business requirements.
  • Help identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in operational data and shares findings in a clear and practical way.
  • Supports process improvement efforts by organizing information, clarifying next steps, and helping teams move work forward.
  • Maintains flexibility to support a broad range of analyst responsibilities beyond any one system or platform.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and provide high-quality internal customer service.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in analytics, business, information systems, education technology, computer/information science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 0-2 years of progressive experience in analytics, reporting, business operations, systems support, or a related role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to break complex issues into clear, step-by-step tasks
  • Experience or familiarity with Power BI, Google Sheets, Excel, or similar reporting and analysis tools
  • Foundational understanding of data modeling concepts and how data structures support reporting and analytics
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and build functional knowledge in platforms such as Synergy and Synergy Analytics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, follow-through and follow-up
  • Ability to gather requirements, document processes, and support process improvement efforts
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card.
