Job description

The Product Strategy Analyst III is an entry-level analytical role that supports the Distribution division by delivering foundational data analysis, reporting, and financial evaluation to inform business decisions. This role focuses on building core analytical, technical, and business acumen through hands-on execution of structured analyses and recurring reporting. The PSA III works closely with senior analysts and cross-functional stakeholders to develop skills in analytical modeling and data systems while contributing reliable, accurate analytical outputs.

This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Wood Dale, IL, with a planned relocation to the Merchandise Mart (Chicago) in early 2027.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Perform structured data analysis to identify basic trends and patterns to summarize findings clearly and accurately.
  • Execute data cleaning and transformation tasks using established methodologies with partial oversight.
  • Maintain and update recurring reports and dashboards using existing templates to ensure data accuracy, formatting, and consistency.
  • Develop familiarity with common Distribution KPIs and metric definitions and apply them consistently in reporting and analysis.
  • Complete foundational training in core Distribution systems and tools (e.g., IMOPS, IFS, Concourse, Paarts Store, Domo, SQL, Power BI).
  • Apply newly learned technical skills to small, well-defined analytical or reporting tasks.
  • Follow established data structuring and governance frameworks; validate data accuracy and completeness prior to use in analysis.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects with a learning mindset; ask clarifying questions to understand business context and objectives.
  • Produce clear documentation, meeting notes, and basic analysis summaries with minimal guidance.
  • Provide task-level time estimates for assigned work; recognize when timelines or scope may be unrealistic and escalate appropriately.

  • Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to work with data in a structured, detail-oriented manner
  • Foundational understanding of financial concepts and business metrics
  • Ability to follow established processes while building technical and analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and business concepts
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in an analytics, finance, operations, or related role (internship experience acceptable).
  • Exposure to data tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Domo preferred.
  • Experience working with structured datasets or reporting environments preferred.
  • Interest in analytics, pricing, forecasting, or strategy within a Distribution or supply chain environment preferred.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location.
