Entry-level Systems Engineering position for UAB's Engineering and Innovative Technology Development (EITD) group. Assist with providing flight operations support of payload systems for space applications. Develop system-level documents and assist with functional and verification testing for complex engineering hardware and devices.
Engineering and Innovative Technology Development (EITD) was created to support the development of specialized research instruments for ground and microgravity-based research experiments. Key Roles & Responsibilities
Assists in development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
Support meetings, teleconferences, and travel as required by projects.
Travel to support testing and launch/return activities
Reports to EITD Systems Engineering Section Lead
Performs simple and routine engineering design tasks with standard techniques.
Assists more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, data analysis, and reports.
May be required to work nights and weekends, as necessary, to support real time flight operations. Travel to support testing and launch/return activities for approx. 7-day periods, 5-10 trips per year possible.
(Annual Salary: $57,940 - $94,150)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. STEM-related field is preferred.
