Job description

LandDesign is seeking an entry-level Survey Field Technician to join our team and support land development projects. This role is a great opportunity for someone interested in surveying, civil engineering, or construction to gain hands-on field experience.

You will work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers to collect field data and assist with surveys for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Training will be provided on modern surveying equipment and field procedures.

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Assist with daily field survey operations on land development projects
  • Support boundary and topographic surveys used for site planning and design
  • Help perform construction staking for roads, utilities, buildings, and storm drainage systems
  • Set up and operate survey equipment such as GPS (RTK), robotic total stations, and data collectors (training provided)
  • Collect and record accurate field data for use by engineers and designers
  • Assist in locating property corners, right-of-way lines, easements, and utilities
  • Maintain organized electronic data and field notes
  • Help maintain and transport survey equipment safely and properly
