Our SUE field techs gain on-the-job training in utility locating and utility designating, along with knowledge and experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering and surveying methods and technology. Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional Subsurface Utility Engineering and surveying services in support of infrastructure projects of all sizes and types. Using advanced technologies, our team of field technicians, engineers, and surveyors, provide quality data and professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan, and design their projects. Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality information, professional insight and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety and set the standard for the engineering industry.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You will work with a team of professionals, including engineers, project managers, land surveyors, CAD and SUE technicians to produce high quality deliverables that meet the guidelines established by the American Society of Civil Engineers
  • Use geophysical equipment such as ground penetrating radar and multi-frequency pipe and cable locators to investigate and designate underground utilities
  • Work with CAD software as part of your daily documentation process
  • Operate vacuum excavation trucks to expose and document underground utilities
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles (non-CDL), including vacuum excavation trucks
  • Operate powered tools such as jackhammers, pneumatic tampers, concrete saws, and coring drills
  • Complete paper and electronic documentation on a daily basis
  • Perform daily basic maintenance on vehicles

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Prior utility related experience is a plus, but not a necessity
  • Prior experience working on diesel engines is a plus
  • Basic understanding of utility and construction plans is a plus
  • Good reading comprehension and communication skills
  • A good aptitude for using and understanding computer software
  • Must be organized
  • Enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis
  • Able to walk several miles a day across varying terrain
  • Ability to solve problems and think on your feet
  • Should have an understanding of basic mechanical principles
  • Must have valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical*
  • Must be able to pass a DOT medical screening and obtain a DOT medical card
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
  • OSHA safety certifications are a plus
  • Able to travel across Colorado and other western states to support regional operations. Travel may account for 50 percent of work year and typically lasts for 2 week periods
