Job description

RN - Emergency Room

This is a contract position for an RN in the Emergency Room. The role will involve a variety of emergency care responsibilities. The unit consists of 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track areas, and 5 behavioral health beds. The staff includes day and night shift teams to provide comprehensive care. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 for emergency department patients and 1:5 for behavioral health patients. Equipment utilized includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers. Candidates with experience in Meditech and trauma care will be prioritized. Additional skills such as inpatient experience and crisis prevention intervention are preferred. Typical procedures performed include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central lines, and airway support. Behavioral health de-escalation techniques are also key components of the role. The ideal candidate will be a multitasker, team player, and self-starter. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs for nursing staff. All established policies and guidelines must be followed. The unit fosters a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth.
