Job description

A 204-bed hospital in Loxahatchee, Florida is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead sterile processing operations. Located in Palm Beach County, the facility holds a Primary Stroke Center designation and features a Level II NICU, a full-service Children's Hospital, and a dedicated New Life Center, along with specialized services in orthopedics, robotics, and interventional radiology. This is a full-time, on-site role with a daytime schedule and no weekend requirements.

The Supervisor of Sterile Processing leads a team of three FTEs in the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment to support patient safety across the facility. This position oversees quality control procedures, performs and validates sterilization tests, and ensures the department operates in full compliance with standards established by the Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, and AAMI. The supervisor is also responsible for training and developing sterile processing staff, managing instrument and equipment inventory and workflow, and actively collaborating with other hospital departments to coordinate instrument availability and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of sterile processing technicians through daily operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician or equivalent certification required
  • Minimum of two to three years of previous experience in sterile processing required
  • Minimum of one year of leadership experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and automated sterilization systems required
