Creative STEAM Academy is a progressive K8 hybrid private homeschool learning center in Laguna Hills, CA, built on the belief that education should be as unique as the students it serves. We blend hands-on academics, enrichment, and social-emotional learning in a community where creativity, critical thinking, and whole-child growth are not buzzwords they are the foundation. THE ROLE
Entry level manager position as the Educational Operations Manager, you are the engine that keeps our campus running smoothly, efficiently, and with purpose. Working closely with and reporting to the Educational Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operational and programmatic functions of the school from staff coordination and scheduling to family communication, compliance, and school culture. You are equally comfortable in a spreadsheet and in a hallway conversation with a parent. You bring structure to a dynamic environment without losing the warmth that makes our school what it is.
This is a full-time, on-site role for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and take real ownership.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
Academic and Program Support:
  • Support the Educational Director in the day-to-day operations of K12 academic programs
  • Help develop and maintain student schedules, course offerings, and program calendars
  • Assist with curriculum coordination, instructional planning, and program implementation
  • Monitor academic compliance, progress tracking, and school-wide assessment logistics
  • Coordinate enrichment opportunities, intervention strategies, and student support services
  • Ensure classroom management systems and behavioral support strategies are consistently in place
  • Support the onboarding, coordination, and ongoing development of teaching staff
Operations and Administration:
  • Oversee daily campus operations keeping schedules, systems, and logistics running without a hitch
  • Manage enrollment processes, student records, and administrative workflows
  • Coordinate staff schedules, substitutes, and day-to-day campus coverage needs
  • Maintain compliance with school policies, safety protocols, and educational standards
  • Collaborate with the admin team to continuously improve systems, processes, and student services
  • Manage vendor relationships, campus supplies, and facility needs as needed
School Culture and Student Success:
  • Help cultivate a safe, respectful, and engaging campus environment every single day
  • Support the implementation of restorative, fair, and consistent behavioral expectations
  • Be a visible, trusted, and approachable presence for students, staff, and families
  • Promote student voice through surveys, councils, and classroom forums
  • Champion social-emotional learning as a core part of the school experience
Family and Community Engagement:
  • Serve as a key point of contact for families regarding operational, academic, and general school concerns
  • Communicate proactively and warmly with families through newsletters, meetings, and digital platforms
  • Support family involvement through events, workshops, and advisory committees
  • Help build and maintain strong home-school partnerships that keep families engaged and informed
WHO YOU ARE
  • You are a systems thinker who also genuinely loves people both matter equally in this role
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Operations, or a related field
  • You bring 35 or more years of experience in school operations, educational administration, or a related leadership role
  • You have a solid working knowledge of California state educational standards and school compliance requirements
  • You have experience working across multiple grade levels K12 experience is a strong plus
  • You are an exceptional organizer who can manage competing priorities without dropping the ball
  • You are a clear, warm, and confident communicator with staff, families, and students alike
  • You have experience with restorative discipline, social-emotional learning, or alternative education models or a genuine desire to grow in this area
  • You are calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and not afraid to do whatever needs doing
  • You are proficient with technology, school management systems, and digital communication tools
  • First Aid / CPR certification is preferred
