Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Data Analyst to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will primarily focus on extracting, organizing, and running simple, recurring reports to support key departments: Sales, Operations, and Purchasing. You will turn raw data into clear, actionable insights that help our teams optimize performance, manage inventory, track sales trends, and make smarter purchasing decisions in the fast-paced sports nutrition distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and distribute routine reports for the Sales team, including daily/weekly sales performance, top-selling products, customer trends, and regional breakdowns.
  • Support Operations by generating reports on inventory levels, warehouse throughput, order fulfillment rates, shipping metrics, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist the Purchasing department with reports on supplier performance, inventory turnover, purchase history, stock levels, and demand forecasting to help maintain optimal product availability.
  • Extract data from internal systems (ERP, CRM, databases, or spreadsheets) and compile it into easy-to-understand Excel reports, basic dashboards, or formatted summaries.
  • Perform simple data cleaning, validation, and basic analysis (e.g., totals, averages, trends, comparisons) to ensure report accuracy.
  • Use AI-assisted tools (such as Microsoft Copilot in Excel/Power BI, generative AI for prompt-based insights, or similar) to accelerate report generation, identify patterns, and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Collaborate with department leads to understand their reporting needs and deliver timely, consistent outputs.
  • Identify and flag obvious data anomalies or opportunities (e.g., slow-moving items or sales spikes) for further review.
  • Maintain and update report templates for efficiency and consistency.
  • Assist with ad-hoc data requests as needed to support business decisions

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience. Prior internships, academic projects, or part-time roles involving data or reporting are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Required Abilities:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, and basic formulas) is required.
    • Familiarity with SQL, Google Sheets, or basic data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a strong plus.
    • Basic knowledge or willingness to learn AI tools and generative AI for data tasks (e.g., using AI to assist with data summarization, insight generation, or report automation) is highly desirable.
    • Experience with ERP systems, CRM tools, or inventory software is helpful but not required (training provided).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Clear written and verbal communication - able to explain reports to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic distribution business.
