We are looking for a candidate who has a strong interest in immigration law, excellent research and writing skills, and a willingness to develop confidence representing clients before USCIS and Immigration Court.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted and in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
  • Must speak Spanish.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients.
  • Empathetic and passionate about helping clients navigate the immigration process.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and receive feedback and mentorship.
  • Desire for continued professional growth.
  • Willingness to travel outside of the state when necessary.

  • Assisting with and managing an assigned caseload while meeting court, USCIS, and internal deadlines.
  • Conducting legal research on immigration laws, regulations, policies, and case law.
  • Drafting motions, briefs, memoranda of law, declarations, and other legal documents.
  • Reviewing immigration applications, petitions, supporting documentation, and filings.
  • Assisting in the preparation of clients for USCIS interviews and Immigration Court hearings.
  • Appearing at USCIS interviews and Immigration Court proceedings as assigned and with appropriate supervision and training.
  • Working with supervising attorneys to develop legal strategies for clients' cases.
  • Staying informed regarding legal and policy developments that may impact our clients.
  • Collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, case coordinators, and other team members to ensure cases are handled efficiently and professionally.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is interested in developing a career in immigration law while receiving hands-on experience in a fast-paced law firm environment.
If you are interested in joining Canizares Law Group as a Junior Immigration Attorney, please submit your resume/CV and a cover letter explaining your interest in immigration law and why you would like to join our firm.
