Job description

Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is currently seeking an entry level Landscape Designer with 0-2 years of experience in detailed design and landscape architecture for our Towson Maryland office. This opportunity offers a greater level of responsibility working on diverse projects with our landscape architects, planners and engineers.
Landscape Designer Responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare planning documents (from concept - thru refinement and jurisdictional submission) of large-scale mixed use, commercial use, K-12 mater planning, master planned communities, and public space developments.
  • Develop and learn landscape architectural design and detailing for a variety of land development components such as monumental entrances, streetscapes, clubhouses/community centers, playgrounds, plazas, courtyards, pocket parks, hiking trails etc.

โ€ข Understanding local jurisdictional requirements from comprehensive plans, to zoning codes, to detailed subdivision, landscape, and signage regulations/guidelines, including the ability to help craft modifications to these documents
โ€ข Work with and learn from senior leadership and mid level designers and engineers.
โ€ข Active participation in industry and professional associations such as ASLA, APA, ULI
Requirements
Landscape Designer Requirements will include:
  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture
  • Landscape Architecture Licensure, not required
  • 0-2 years of experience in planning and landscape architectural design including site layouts,

โ€ข landscape design, and grading
  • Excellent written, graphic, and oral presentation communication skills
  • Fluency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Land F/X and Sketch Up a plus
  • The ability to collect, organize, and present data in creative ways to team members and clients
  • Understanding of site construction projects, practical knowledge of construction document preparation and addressing RFIs, a plus
