Job Description
As an Engineering Technician, you'll join our Special Inspection team in a hands-on field role that supports construction projects across the Atlanta metro area. Training is available for the right person, and your work will help teams gather reliable field data through soil testing, and erosion control inspections, concrete sampling. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build skills, work outdoors, and contribute to safe, quality infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
  • Perform or learn soil testing at jobsites.
  • Perform or learn erosion control inspections in the field.
  • Perform or learn field concrete sampling at active construction sites.
  • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans to complete work accurately.
  • Work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions and around active construction activity.
  • Travel between jobsites in the Atlanta metro area and operate a company vehicle within company guidelines.

You'll thrive here if you have
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior construction experience or a strong interest in learning field testing and inspection work. Atlas is open to training the right person.
  • Strong communication skills in English, along with solid organization, a positive attitude, and a dependable work ethic.
  • The ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Comfort working outdoors, moving equipment across uneven ground, and routinely lifting 40-50 lbs. as needed.
  • The ability to earn ACI Concrete Tech and NPDES certifications within your first 90 days, plus the ability to meet driving, drug screen, motor vehicle record, and background check requirements.
