You will have a measurable impact on the performance of our business by promoting the highest standards of quality. Since the hardware that we produce is very complex, we are looking for someone who understands the important nature of it.You will report to a Project Quality Engineer and work onsite in East Aurora, NY (Buffalo area).Moog Space and Defenseprovides hardware involved in the flow of ignition and systems to the world's leading space and defense platforms.Headquartered in East Aurora, NY, we employ 13,000 employees in 27 countries.At Moog we have a culture of trust and mutual respect; and for you, working with us can mean deeper job satisfaction, better rewards, and a great quality of life inside and outside of work.To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM and 3 years of professional work experience in Engineering or Manufacturing, 2 years of which must be in Quality Engineering in manufacturing.

  • Associate's Degree and 7 years of professional work experience in Engineering or Manufacturing, 2 years of which must be in Quality Engineering in manufacturing.
Or
  • High School Diploma and 11 years of progressive and relevant work experience in Engineering or Manufacturing, 2 years of which must be in Quality Engineering in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, and database software packages
  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
As a Quality Engineer, you will:
  • Most importantly, you'll be relied upon to have integrity, and as someone who won't be afraid to stand up and say "STOP - we have a problem we that need to address right away." You may have found that this type of environment hasn't been encouraged where you've worked in the past, but it is here. You'll have the strength of Moog's culture behind you to support it.
  • Be a key stakeholder on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial quality related decisions for our customers.
  • Represent Moog to support Customer & Government (DCMA) inspections, customer audits and requirements.
  • Improve production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes, and providing quality support to manufacturing personnel.
  • Activities will include failure analysis, root cause and corrective action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit support configuration control, and traceability.
  • Review and prepare End Item Data packs to provide to customer during either source inspections or shipment of hardware.
  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes, and final inspection.
  • Work directly with customers and suppliers to identify root cause and corrective action.
  • Improve cost for inspection and prevent cost due to failure through statistical analysis and problem solving.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $80,000.00-$105,000.00 Annually
