PART TIME RESEARCH SCHOLAR
New York University Tandon School of Engineering
The C2SMARTER Center at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Part Time Scholar to work under the direction of Prof.Eugene Vinitsky.
New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering, located in Brooklyn, NY, is deeply committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Tandon fosters student and faculty innovation and entrepreneurship that make a difference in the world. The C2SMARTER Center conducts faculty-led research on topics related to urban mobility, reducing congestion, and transportation technologies. C2SMARTER Center, led by NYU Tandon School of Engineering, is a consortium of 7 nationwide universities working on cutting edge research, technology transfer, and education/workforce development.
Expectations:
Candidates will be responsible for the development of simulated models of human behavior for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists in a hardware-accelerated simulator developed in Prof. Vinitsky's group. Candidates will be responsible for extending the simulator, running algorithms to train the agents, and algorithm development to achieve high performance. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in machine learning, software development, or reinforcement learning as exemplified by a strong publication record. Previous experience on software development is desired.
Salary range:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $34.00 per hour, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field, plus 1 year of experience. Candidates will be required to present employment eligibility to work in the United States.
