Description:

KDS Windsor is the leading manufacturer of lumber dry kilns, biomass heat plants, and industrial drying systems in North America. We are seeking a highly organized, energetic, and mechanically inclined Part-Time Inside Sales Representative to support our sales, service, and operations teams.


This position plays a critical role in supporting customers, preparing estimates and quotations, processing parts and service-related orders, coordinating materials, managing inventory, and serving as a key link between customers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure customer requests are handled accurately, efficiently, and professionally.


The ideal candidate is a strong multitasker with excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to learn technical products, parts, and services. A college degree is not required. Relevant experience, mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and a strong work ethic are valued more than formal education. 


Schedule: 8am-5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Pay: Hourly Rate $30 per hour 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for replacement parts, field service work, and Industrial Mechanical Group (IMG) opportunities
  • Process parts orders, service-related orders, and customer purchases from receipt through completion
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and technical questions
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to obtain pricing, lead times, and material availability
  • Track and manage inventory between company facilities
  • Support sales and service personnel with administrative and customer-related tasks
  • Learn KDS products, services, and applications
  • Coordinate activities across sales, service, engineering, manufacturing, and accounting departments
  • Monitor open quotations and orders to ensure timely follow-up and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Teams, QuickBooks, and other company software platforms
  • Assist customers with parts identification, product selection, and basic troubleshooting
  • Follow up on quotations and customer inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Required Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand industrial equipment and mechanical systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Basic math skills with the ability to perform material takeoffs, calculations, and estimating tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to learn and utilize QuickBooks and other business software applications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. work authorization

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in manufacturing, construction, industrial sales, maintenance, service, or parts departments
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and equipment layouts
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Purchasing or inventory management experience
