Job description

As a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes in a production environment. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, efficiency, and safety. You will assist in developing and maintaining process documentation, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to apply engineering principles to solve practical problems, with a focus on improving manufacturing performance and reducing costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure quality.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Support the development and implementation of quality control systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and other engineering projects.
  • Track project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of engineering activities, including process changes and improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in safety audits and initiatives to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection mold, CNC machining, stamping, deep draw, compression molding, automated assembly and packaging, passivation, and coating.
  • Lean manufacturing principles, (5S, Kaizen, VSM, Kanban, JIT, Heijunka, Poka-Yoke, TPM, SMED, Standard Work, GEMBA, Takt Time, Andon and Visual Management).
  • Quality control methodologies (visual, dimensional, NDT, destructive, functional, SPC, X-bar R/S, p, np, c, u, Cp/Cpk).
  • Proficiency with CAD software and knowledge of SolidWorks preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. (5-whys, Fishbone, FMEA, DMAIC, Pareto, Histograms, FEA, Discrete Event Simulation, DOE, PDCA, A3, RCCA).
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to write and read English.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree in technical field or relevant years of experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; beyond degree or relevant years of experience, internships or co-op experience will be considered.
