Position Title: Digital / Software Engineer
Position Summary:
KBR is seeking a Software Engineer to support the horizontal integration of multiple USAF open architecture programs and autonomy projects. You will help drive the development, simulation, maturation, and coordination of USAF open architecture capabilities; ensuring alignment across systems and enhancing mission effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Simulation Execution & Test Support
  • Validate simulation inputs, outputs, and system configurations.
  • Troubleshoot simulation execution issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Monitor simulation performance and ensure test objectives are achieved.
  • Configure, execute, and monitor simulations in laboratory and virtual test environments.
  • Support developmental and operational test events through modeling and simulation activities.
  • Develop and maintain simulation scenarios based on operational requirements and test objectives.

Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze simulation results and identify performance trends, anomalies, and risks.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and visualizations to support engineering and program decisions.
  • Present simulation findings to technical teams and program leadership.
  • Maintain test records and configuration documentation.

Digital Engineering Support
  • Assist in development and maintenance of digital engineering artifacts.
  • Support creation and refinement of system models and digital representations.
  • Participate in Digital Thread and Digital Twin initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of simulation and testing processes.

Team Collaboration
  • Partner with systems engineers and test personnel to define simulation objectives.
  • Coordinate with software and cybersecurity teams to maintain simulation environments.
  • Support Government and DoD customer demonstrations, reviews, and test events.

Required Qualifications::
  • Minimum Associate's degree in systems engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related STEM degree program
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in Systems Engineering
  • An active Secret clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Top-Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and methodologies
  • Knowledge of DoD open architectures such as OMS (Open Mission Systems)
  • Experience with software architecture and development
  • Experience with data modeling, test driven development, and mission planning
  • Experience with collaborative software development in either open source or professional team environments.

Work Environment:
  • Location: On-site
  • Travel: Minimal to Moderate
  • Working Hours: Standard (8am-4pm-core hours)
