Our client in Muscle Shoals, AL is looking for an entry-level engineer with interest in working in the industrial manufacturing industry. Description:
The position will be to work with the TAB global team to ensure each project is provided with full working drawings, manufacturing drawing, material estimates, quality control documentation and site surveys. This will involve several communications between the TAB team and our customers to ensure the best quality designs are drawn up and we, as a team, provide the best refractory solutions worldwide. With the current growth of the company worldwide our resources must increase to undertake further projects to the expected standard of TAB Refractory. The position is to ensure, with in house training and courses where required, the right candidate can join the team and allow further growth with consistency. This is a great opportunity to make a great career with a great company.
The duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Assist the team in the design and development of proposed solutions for refractory parts and furnace arrangement drawings.
- Collaborate with the team to produce sketches and drawings for sales, manufacturing, installation, fabrications.
- Produce/amend drawings in accordance with customer specifications and technical documentation to meet expected requirements.
- Evaluate drawings and identify/rectify problem areas.
- Work on site during busy shutdown periods and projects to assist with furnaces being built to drawing and specification.
- Attending customer visits and engineering review meetings at various sites.
- Producing "as built" drawings
- Produce/calculate full Bill of Quantities for materials required.
- Input data to CNC polystyrene hot wire cutting machine for manufacture of formworks.
- Be involved in producing project planning activities
- Produce quality and safety documents for on site activities
- Assist in any other areas within the company that may be necessary to ensure high quality.
Training will be provided where necessary. Experience within the TAB standard will be required and therefore time on site working with the team on installations is mandatory.

Requirements:
- Associates degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in a refractory or manufacturing environment a plus.
- Prior quality control experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, and experience with AutoCAD / Inventor, strongly preferred.

During our very busy periods the engineering office can be very challenging due to tight deadlines and ability to respond to customer needs quickly, this will involve all hands-on deck for all areas of the company and may require undertaking tasks outside of your usual job roles. Candidate may be required to work overtime and/or at various working sites for further experience and training.
