Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician specializing in Shopping Cart Repair to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining shopping carts at various retail locations to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned store locations and conduct on-site inspections of shopping carts to identify mechanical or electrical issues
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on shopping carts, including wheel assemblies, seats, handles, locks, and electronic components
  • Straighten cart frames or perform minor welding repairs
  • Load and unload carts
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical circuits and ensure proper functionality
  • Document repair activities accurately and report recurring issues for process improvement
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of repair parts and tools necessary for field operations
  • Follow safety protocols diligently during all repair activities to prevent accidents
  • Communicate effectively with store personnel and management regarding repair status and timelines
  • Adhere to company standards for quality workmanship and customer service excellence

Experience

  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical and maintenance repair, preferably with shopping carts or similar equipment
  • Familiarity with using diagnostic tools such as ohm meters for electrical testing
  • Computer and IPad knowledge
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficient troubleshooting
  • Comfortable working independently in various retail environments
