Job description

Design Build Mechanical, a Crete United company is seeking a working Sheet Metal Foreman/Journeyman. We specialize in the new construction, renovation, and retrofit of commercial and industrial facilities. We utilize the DesignBuild concept to minimize a project's timeline while adhering to the customer's budget. We provide engineering design, installation and support service in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.
Job Details
Typical Duties
  • Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to products being fabricated or installed.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned craft workers.
  • Interpret specifications, blue prints and work orders as needed for an area of supervision.
  • Install and direct installation of assemblies in buildings or work-sites.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules using knowledge of equipment, materials, and the capabilities of assigned personnel.
  • Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain time records and coordinates schedules.
  • Provide input for project estimates and schedules.
  • Coordinate project activities with other trades.
  • Supervise and coordinate sub contractor activities.
  • Works in conjunction with the assigned project manager to coordinate project schedules, deliveries, and activities.

Qualifications
  • Must have experience working on construction sites and have followed construction safety guidelines
  • Experience with planning, layout, fabricating, assembling, installing and repairing sheet metal parts, equipment and products, utilizing a knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques
  • Ability to interpret specifications, blue prints and work orders
  • Ability to analyze and solve work problems
  • Ability to study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion
  • Experience leading craft workers and coordinating activities
  • Occasional Travel
  • Ability to use MS Office to include Outlook email
