The Office of Online Programs in the Elliott School of International Affairs (ESIA) supports the development, delivery, and maintenance of online graduate courses. The office works directly with academic units to provide resources and guidance on effective online instruction. ESIA Online collaborates closely with faculty to plan and design new online courses, including supporting the multimedia production of instructor videos. Additionally, the office assists with course maintenance and readiness procedures to facilitate successful course launches prior to each semester.
Position Specific Summary
The Administrative Assistant II will work 10 hours per week to assist with project tracking and scheduling, instructor communication, digital resource organization, Blackboard course maintenance, and quality assurance reviews to support the ongoing success of online graduate courses in the Elliott School of International Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and update course development progress, organizing course deliverables, and sending project deadline reminders
  • Support communication with online instructors via shared office email account, and develop strategic communication strategy
  • Organize and maintain repository of instructional guides, project documents, and other files
  • Assist with course readiness tasks in Blackboard prior to the start of each term, including quality assurance reviews and content verification
  • Perform formal evaluation of completed course developments using the Quality Matters (QM) rubric
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the operations of the office
  • Other special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs

Note: Completion of a Quality Matters (QM) training will be required as part of onboarding to support course review work.

Task may include managing small to mid-level projects or events, responding to departmental inquiries, assist with communications and marketing, data entry, and other general office tasks. Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.
