Test Technician – Direct Hire

Electronics, SMT, Soldering

Location: Racine-Mount Pleasant, WI

Pay: $24–$28/hr (shift premium for 2nd & 3rd)

Shifts: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Available - Overtime available based on production needs.

Requires hands-on PCBA, system-level troubleshooting, and electronics-based software/firmware diagnostics. Not entry-level.

About the Role

Join a global leader in smart manufacturing, supporting advanced testing of compute, server, networking, and wireless systems. You will execute ATP (Acceptance Test Procedures), debug failures across software/firmware/hardware layers, and ensure network-enabled products meet performance standards before release.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot PCBA and system-level test failures, isolating root causes at component, interface, or configuration level

  • Perform ATP testing using scripted and manual test sequences for compute and network products

  • Diagnose issues with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and other bench tools

  • Configure and validate server hardware including CPUs, DDR, storage devices, and NIC interfaces

  • Test and verify Wi-Fi, LAN, and network communication performance

  • Troubleshoot software and firmware-related failures, including device configuration, boot issues, and version mismatches

  • Execute and troubleshoot test scripts, firmware loads, and command-line diagnostics

  • Repair and support test fixtures, harnesses, sockets, and test station hardware

  • Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, test logs, and hardware reference documentation

  • Document results and update test instructions/SOPs as processes evolve

  • Assist Test Engineering with NPI, pilot builds, and process improvements

  • Maintain ESD controls and follow IPC quality standards

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years in electronics testing, debugging, or repair (manufacturing preferred)

  • Hands-on troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and similar equipment

  • Ability to read schematics and interpret PCBA-level documentation

  • Knowledge of server/computer hardware components and architecture

  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi or network testing tools and fault isolation methods

  • Basic Linux/UNIX command navigation for network/device diagnostics

  • Understanding of ESD-safe handling and minor soldering for rework or component adjustments

  • Technical diploma/certificate in Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience preferred

This role is not suitable for warehouse, production, or general assembly backgrounds without electronics troubleshooting experience.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
