Job description

Role Overview
An Overnight Security Officer at Lanier Islands Resort is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and order of the property during late-night and early-morning hours. This role ensures the protection of guests, staff, and resort assets, while also providing a secure environment for daytime operations
Key Responsibilities
Patrols: Conduct scheduled and random foot and vehicle patrols of guest floors, stairwells, parking areas, pool decks, exterior grounds, and utility rooms to detect unauthorized activity, safety hazards, or property damage
Access control panels in real time to identify suspicious behavior, trespassers, or system anomalies
Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms (intrusion, fire, panic, duress) and investigate activations, securing the area and coordinating with emergency services as needed
Guest Assistance: Assist guests in locked-out situations, verify identities, and provide access per property protocols
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily shift logs, incident reports, and security logs, recording observations, responses, and follow-up actions
Safety Enforcement: Enforce resort policies, ensure all doors/windows are locked, and secure exits after end-of-shift operations
Emergency Preparedness: Respond to medical emergencies, administer first aid/CPR if trained, and assist in evacuations or other safety procedures
Liaison: Communicate with daytime security, management, and local authorities regarding incidents or safety concerns
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED; criminal justice coursework is a plus
Experience: Entry-level to experienced; prior security, loss prevention, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
Certifications: State security guard license, OSHA safety awareness
