Job description

Security Operations Analyst

We're partnering with leading AI research labs to build the next generation of AI systems capable of reasoning through real-world security incidents. As a Security Operations Analyst, your hands-on SOC experience will directly shape how AI detects, investigates, and responds to threats — making it smarter, faster, and more accurate for the analysts who rely on it.

If you've spent time in the trenches triaging alerts, hunting threats, or managing incident response, this is your opportunity to turn that expertise into something that scales globally.

Organization: Alignerr

Type: Hourly Contract

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Location: Fully Remote

What You'll Do

  • Analyze realistic SOC scenarios, security alerts, and incident data to assess what's happening and why it matters
  • Classify alert severity, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate response actions
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated investigation workflows and detection logic for accuracy and real-world alignment
  • Validate AI outputs to ensure they reflect how experienced analysts actually triage and respond to threats
  • Provide structured, expert feedback that helps frontier AI models reason through security incidents more effectively

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a SOC, incident response, or security operations role
  • Familiar with SIEM platforms, alert triage, and investigation workflows
  • Able to distinguish genuine security signals from background noise and false positives
  • Detail-oriented with strong written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with threat hunting, malware analysis, or digital forensics
  • Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK or NIST
  • Background in cloud security, endpoint detection, or network monitoring
  • Prior experience in AI evaluation or red teaming

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems built for real-world security environments
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Contribute to meaningful work that makes AI more effective and trustworthy in security operations
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
