Summary

As an Unarmed Security Guard, you will be responsible for providing a visible security presence and maintaining a safe and secure environment within aย government, corporate, retail, or commercial setting. This role requires professionalism, strong situational awareness, and excellent customer service skills.

Primary responsibilities include conducting foot patrols, monitoring surveillance and alarm systems, controlling access and egress, observing and reporting suspicious activity, and responding appropriately to safety or security concerns. Officers are expected to complete accurate reports and maintain detailed logs in accordance with post orders and company policy.

In addition to physical security duties, this position actively supports SSCโ€™s G.E.T. Principles โ€” Greet, Engage, and Thank, ensuring a positive experience for customers, visitors, associates, and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and random security patrols on foot or by vehicle, as assigned

  • Observe, report, and deter theft, misconduct, and suspicious behavior

  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems

  • Control entry and exit points and verify authorized access

  • Identify and address safety hazards or irregular conditions

  • Respond to incidents and emergencies; notify law enforcement or emergency services as required

  • Assist with basic first aid and emergency notifications

  • Prepare detailed written reports on incidents, accidents, and suspicious activity

  • Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement when necessary

  • Maintain a clean, professional, and orderly post area at all times

Customer Service & Engagement (G.E.T. Principles)

  • Greet and welcome customers, guests, tenants, and associates in a professional and courteous manner

  • Engage proactively with individuals to provide assistance, information, or direction

  • Thank individuals for patronizing the location and promote a positive environment

  • Anticipate and respond to customer questions regarding the site, surrounding area, and available services

Education & Licensing

Experience
