Sales Development Representative

Context of the role

We are seeking to hire a Sales Development Representative to support our commercial team with targeted prospecting, pipeline generation and ultimately to increase revenue from new business. This role reports into the Director of Demand Generation and sits within the Marketing function and has a very close working relationship with our U.S. New Business sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through outbound campaigns (email, calls, LinkedIn) and from qualifying inbound enquiries.
  • Research and identify relevant contacts at target accounts, using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6sense, Apollo and similar platforms.
  • Qualify and engage with prospects to understand their business needs, challenges, and fit for the solution Thunes offers.
  • Nurture early-stage contacts through consistent, personalized communication and follow up on marketing engaged contacts.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Representatives to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.
  • Follow up on event and marketing campaign leads to convert interest into qualified opportunities.
  • Work closely with our wider Marketing team to refine messaging, identify target personas, and optimise for engagement with the right persona and target accounts.
  • Share feedback from the market to help shape product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Continuously seek ways to optimise and improve our marketing and sales processes.

  2. Number of sales opportunities created from both outbound and inbound campaigns.
  3. Number of sales opportunities that progress through the pipeline stages, as well as the revenue ultimately generated.

Requirements

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • 2+ year experience working either in Payments / Fintech 
  • 2+ years experience working in an SDR role with experience generating qualified opportunities through outbound campaigns
  • Experienced with cold calling and using sales engagement platforms such as Apollo.io, Outreach.io, Gong or equivalent
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM or equivalent, managing contacts, accounts and opportunities
  • Experience using 6Sense or an equivalent Account Based Marketing platform would be advantageous
  • Avid and curious user of AI tools with experience in how to it can be deployed across outbound campaigns to improve results, enhance targeting, messaging, and conversion.
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Has a natural aptitude for sales and is able to easily converse with people over email and video calls
