Job description

Come build with the Dot-com team behind Ring and Blink. Full-stack web and infrastructure with a highly-available SLA.
We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer to join our team. You'll design and build web components used across multiple applications, scale the infrastructure already serving our customers, and architect new systems where the current ones won't take us to the next order of magnitude

Our stack centers on TypeScript and AWS CDK, with React, Next.js, and Angular on the front end and Ruby on Rails and Java in the services behind them.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in an ambiguous space, with strong technical ability, project management skills, and a background in building products and APIs from the ground up. You must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. You should be innovative, have effective engineering leadership and communication skills, and be team-oriented

You must excel at navigating cross-functional efforts and partnering directly with product stakeholders, helping define projects and features, not just build them, synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into highly scalable, simple products that our customers will love. Through CI/CD we own our tools and have the ability to drive change through the entire lifecycle.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, and own reusable web application components and front-end experiences shared across multiple Ring applications, using React, Next.js, and Angular.
- Architect, scale, and operate the underlying services and infrastructure that power those experiences against a high-availability SLA.
- Define and provision infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and CloudFormation, owning the deployment and scaling of your stacks.
- Partner closely with product managers and other stakeholders, helping shape and define projects and features, not just implement them, and translate ambiguous requirements into shipped, measurable customer outcomes.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through architectural input and mentoring peers.
- Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and pay down reliability risks before they become customer-facing incidents.
- Drive operational excellence: instrument and monitor your services, define alarms and dashboards, participate in on-call, and lead root-cause analysis.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
A day in the life
You start by scanning your team's dashboards, watching latency, error rates, and availability against the four-nines target, and triage anything left from overnight on-call. Mid-morning you sit with a product manager to scope a feature, shaping what ships before any code is written, then build the component in React and wire up the CDK stack behind it

You review a teammate's code and pair with a newer engineer on their tests. In the afternoon you land your own change and confirm the metrics hold. You build it, you ship it, and you keep it running.
