Job Title: Senior Ruby on Rails Software Developer
About the Role: As part of the Engineering team, the Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable software systems that meet both functional and technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code - This is primarily a coding position.
    • Design, estimate, and code new features.
    • Expand existing applications and services.
    • Ensure all code that goes to production is of top quality.
    • Ensure existing applications are scaled to meet expected demand.
  • Collaborate
    • Collaborate with team members and other teams, Developers and other functional areas
    • Collaborate on enterprise architecture with other teams at Internet Brands.
    • Perform code reviews of your team members' work.
    • Participate in software design discussions.
    • Participate in sprint planning and other project management meetings.
  • Expertise
    • Understand how teams services interact
    • Be able to investigate and fix production issues.

Required Experience:
- 5+ years with object-oriented programming in Ruby, PHP, or Java.
- 2+ years with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Complex SQL queries and database schema design.
- MVC frameworks (Rails / Laravel / Django) and unit testing
- Experience with modern server components (Memcache, Redis, ActiveMQ, Solr)
- Working in a collaborative team environment using tools like JIRA, and Gi
- Command line UNIX/Linux terminal proficiency
- Consuming and creating web services.
- Stable work history and an ability to collaborate effectively.
- BS/MS from a 4 year college.
Nice to have experience:
- Agentic AI development tools
- Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies.
- Rapid deployment tooling such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborating with engineering teams in multiple locations.
