Shift: Nights 3 x 12s hours

Facility: CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Contract: 13 weeks

Start Date: 01/19 (Request Early start)

Additional Info: RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated. PRESCREEN+AUTO OFFER Beds: 28 plus 22 overflow - Ratios: 1:05 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knees, total hips, should replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, fractures-hips, ankles; sepsis, pneumonia, cholelithiasis, ambulatory dysfunction, appendicitis, acute respiratory distress, CHF, dementia, ETOH/drug abuse - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, IV antibiotics, antithrombics, narcotics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10
