Travel Registered Nurse - Neuro

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: Nursing

Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night

Hours per Shift: 12

Experience: Minimum 2 years

License: Registered Nurse Certifications: NIHSS, BLS

Must-Have: Travel experience preferred, Charting experience with Epic, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry monitoring skills

Description: This position is for a general Neuro unit. The schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour night shifts. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience. Travel experience is preferred. Charting will be done using the Epic system. Patient ratios are approximately 1:6. The unit consists of 19 private rooms. The patient population ranges in age from young adults to geriatric patients. Priority admission is given to patients requiring medical surgical level monitoring and care. Common patient diagnoses include medical and surgical conditions as well as neurology or neurosurgical issues. The unit is equipped with telemetry and oximetry monitoring capabilities. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary assistance. Skills in managing and monitoring hemodialysis and chemotherapy will be beneficial. Experience with central line and peripheral line care management is required. Candidates should be familiar with isolation precautions and wound care. The unit provides care that meets the diverse needs of adult patients.
