Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry
Schedule
Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45-07:15)
Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts per contract
Assignment Details
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours options
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience
- Current NC or Compact license (pending acceptable for submission)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS (BLS), NIH (NIHSS listed)
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Management of high-acuity patients and cardiac/vasoactive drips (no BP titration)
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a cardiac telemetry setting.
- Monitor and assess cardiac telemetry patients, interpreting dysrhythmias, and managing care accordingly.
- Administer medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips, ensuring proper protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 3 days (including EPIC training)
- EKG testing required prior to start
- Pre-start modules are required (completed online)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Candidate must complete lab/testing within 48 hours after signing
- RTO after booking is restricted; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
