Job Description
AECOM is seeking an entry-level and motivated full-time Human Health and/or Ecological Risk Assessor to become an integrated member of AECOM's risk assessment and remediation practices. The employee will report to the Germantown, MD office; but may be full-time in office or hybrid, and is expected to begin in Summer 2026.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Experience with running R software
  • Support a wide range of projects for private and government clients throughout the U.S. (and internationally).
  • Perform risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans.
  • Collaborate with internal project teams, including delegating to junior staff.
  • Assist with technical deliverables; including writing reports and performing/reviewing risk assessment calculations.
  • Develop knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments.
  • Maintaining work quality, quantity, and efficiency at or above company standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Health or other related areas.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant years of experience performing human health and/or ecological risk assessments in an environmental consulting setting.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with R software, Microsoft Excel and Word.
