This role will primarily support American Modern Insurance Group, which is part of Munich Re's Global Specialty Insurance division. Based in the corporate office in Amelia, OH, you'll thrive in a hybrid work environment, splitting your time between our office (40-50% of the time) and remote work.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Associate Paralegal to join our legal team under the supervision and direction of one or more supervising attorneys. This entry-level role provides essential legal and administrative support under the direct supervision of one or more attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong research skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a keen interest in legal work. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain foundational experience in a corporate legal environment or continue building a career in a corporate law department.
Responsibilities
  • Conducts factual and legal research on issues using legal databases, compiles related information, summarizes findings, and presents conclusions.
  • Provides drafting and documentation support, including drafting memoranda, agreements, licenses, filings, forms, and responses to law enforcement/regulatory requests for information, including responses to subpoenas, discovery responses, and other responses.
  • Organizes and tracks legal/case files and dockets.
  • Maintains corporate minute books and filings.
  • Prepares, maintains, and transmits corporate, insurance filings, and other regulatory filings and correspondence, including annual Holding Company fillings and amendments as needed.
  • Assists in collecting, compiling, organizing, or obtaining relevant documentation.
  • Supports sanctions compliance program, including screening individuals and entities under OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) to ensure compliance.
  • Supports billing processes.
  • Supports attorneys in responding to internal and external requests and inquiries.
  • Helps ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Assists with training internal clients on applicable legal and compliance matters.
  • Performs clerical and administrative support tasks and general support duties.
  • Carries out additional assignments as directed by supervising attorneys.

Qualifications
  • Education: Associates' or Bachelor's Degree in ABA-approved Paralegal or Legal Studies or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience: Entry-level to three years of relevant experience.
  • Certification: Paralegal certificate preferred.
