About This Internship
Arch's 10-week summer internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry.Interns are provided challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills.Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.
About This Role
- Gain work experience and instruction similar to that of an entry-level actuarial hire.
- Contribute to a large project and present findings to the department at the end of the summer.
- Partner with an onsite mentor from a different actuarial team for broader exposure.
Qualifications
- Actively completing area of study in Actuarial Science, Insurance & Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis, or related program.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
- College level - Bachelors or Graduate student with graduation dates between December 2027 and May 2029.
- One or more actuarial exams attempted is preferred, but not required. For every exam passed prior to the internship start date, intern candidates are eligible for a wage premium increase.
- Experience coding with Python and/or SQL preferred.
- Interest and experience in insurance industry preferred.
- Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
- Team player who collaborates effectively.
- Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Location & Work Arrangement
- The program dates are June 2 - August 6, 2027.
- This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite per week, with the option to work onsite or from home for the remaining 2 days.
- This position can be located in New York City, NY, Jersey City, NJ, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN.
- Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
