Job description

Overview:

Entry-level role in the Digital Product organization, designed to build strong product management fundamentals, an understanding of M&T's customers, operating model, regulatory environment, and technology ecosystem, and hands-on experience supporting product operations. The role begins with an early commitment to product operations and learning within Digital, then creates a feeder path into broader opportunities such as Product Manager, Product Owner, Digital Strategy Manager, Customer Experience, or similar roles based on associate interest, demonstrated skills, and business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day product operations activities, including product documentation, issue tracking, process coordination, reporting, meeting preparation, and follow-up on action items.

  • Assist Product Managers, Product Owners, and Digital leaders in gathering information, organizing inputs, and coordinating work across business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, and customer experience partners.

  • Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of product documentation, requirements, user stories, journey maps, procedures, and operational routines.

  • Develop familiarity with digital banking capabilities, customer journeys, product performance measures, compliance considerations, and the technology ecosystem that supports M&T's digital experiences.

  • Participate in market, customer, competitive, and operational research to support product decisions andidentifyopportunities for improvement.

  • Help coordinate product governance routines, including intake, prioritization support, readiness activities, release coordination, controls, and stakeholder communication.

  • Build product management capabilities through hands-on assignments, mentorship, training, and exposure to multiple areas across Digital.

  • Demonstrate curiosity, accountability,strong communication, and a willingness to learn while supporting continuity in the product operations function.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controlsin accordance withthe Company's Risk Appetite.Identifyrisk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, includingtimelyimplementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Capabilities Required:
  • Strong interest in digital banking, product management, customer experience, technology, or financial services.

Education and Experience Required:

Associates' degree

Minimum of two years' work experience.

Combination of four years banking or related experience.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Exposure toproduct management, Agile delivery, design thinking, customer journey mapping, data analysis, process improvement, banking, fintech, or technology projects.

Demonstrated interest in building a career in Digital with potential progression into Product Manager, Product Owner, Digital Strategy, Customer Experience, or related roles.
