Salary Range: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 Salary/year

Job Shift: Day

The Staff Engineer operates under the direct stewardship of a Director or Division Lead and serves as an entry-level engineering role focused on development, training, and foundational technical execution. This position is intended for non-licensed engineers early in their careers and is designed to support the acquisition of professional experience required for future licensure.

The Staff Engineer provides technical and production support across a variety of design projects, construction materials, and means and methods, while working under the direct mentorship of licensed professional engineers. This role offers exposure to engineering design, documentation, project coordination, and customer interaction while building core skills, judgment, and familiarity with company standards.

Primary DutiesTechnical Execution & Design Support
  • Assist with drafting, modeling, and preparation of construction documents under the oversight and direction of the Project Manager
  • Support design development tasks for single-family, multi-family, and other assigned projects
  • Contribute to delegated product development and design tasks in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Perform preliminary design analyses, including wind load calculations, for coordination with delegated design of pre-manufactured building components, under supervision
  • Research and evaluate new or alternative products, systems, and materials to support design templates and program alternatives
  • Review applicable building codes and product specifications as part of the learning process
  • Participate in advanced design tasks at the discretion and direction of the Project Manager
Construction Administration Support
  • Assist with field calls and Requests for Information (RFIs) under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Support generation of revisions and addenda as directed
Project Support, Tracking & Communication
  • Maintain logs of work performed and track assigned tasks
  • Effectively track time and job status to support efficient project workflow
  • Utilize project tracking software competently and consistently
  • Communicate progress, questions, and issues clearly with the Project Manager
  • Participate in customer and consultant communications and meetings alongside senior team members as appropriate
Professional Development
  • Correspond with customers, design professionals, and contractors under supervision
  • Attend and participate in project meetings to build communication and collaboration skills
  • Actively seek feedback, coaching, and learning opportunities from licensed engineers
General Responsibilities
  • Use available resources efficiently and effectively
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsKnowledge
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering and plan to pursue professional licensure (EI)
  • Minimum 0 – 2 Years of Experience of equivalent work experience required
  • Foundational knowledge of engineering principles and terminology
  • Basic understanding of applicable codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering tools
  • Willingness to learn internal workflows and quality standards
