What is an entry level restaurant technology job?

Entry level restaurant technology jobs are positions that involve supporting and maintaining the technology systems used in restaurants, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems, online ordering platforms, and kitchen display systems. People in these roles may assist with installing, troubleshooting, and updating software and hardware to ensure smooth restaurant operations. These jobs typically require basic technical skills, good communication abilities, and sometimes previous experience with customer service or IT support. They are an excellent starting point for those interested in combining technology and the hospitality industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an entry level restaurant technology role?

To thrive in an Entry Level Restaurant Technology role, you need a basic understanding of IT troubleshooting, familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, and often a high school diploma or associate degree in a related field. Experience with restaurant software platforms, hardware setup, and ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Zendesk is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a customer-focused attitude help you stand out in this position.
