Lead Field Technician / Crew Lead

Are you the type of person who takes pride in transforming properties, leading by example, and delivering exceptional customer service? We're looking for a Lead Field Technician to oversee daily field operations for our growing exterior cleaning and holiday lighting company based in Cary, NC.

This isn't a "show up and spray water" position. We're building a professional, service-driven operation focused on premium residential exterior maintenance throughout the Triangle. As our Lead Field Technician, you'll be responsible for job-site execution, crew leadership, equipment management, safety compliance, and delivering a five-star customer experience on every project.

Position Summary

The Lead Field Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing exterior property services including:

  • House washing and soft washing
  • Pressure washing and surface cleaning
  • Gutter cleaning
  • Roof cleaning
  • Window washing
  • Graffiti removal
  • Dryer vent cleaning
  • Commercial exterior cleaning projects
  • Holiday lighting installation, maintenance, and removal during the winter season

This role serves as the field leader for daily operations and will help train and mentor future technicians as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Route Management

  • Lead daily residential and commercial service routes throughout Cary, Apex and surrounding areas.
  • Coordinate equipment loading, job preparation, and efficient routing.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation using company software.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, safely, and to company quality standards.

Technical Execution

  • Perform professional exterior cleaning services including soft washing, pressure washing, surface cleaning, and gutter cleaning.
  • Safely operate pressure washing equipment, pumps, hoses, ladders, and related tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve common field challenges while protecting customer property.
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and remove holiday lighting displays during the holiday season.

Safety Leadership

  • Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Ensure proper ladder usage, fall protection, PPE compliance, and safe chemical handling procedures.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks.
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead and train entry-level technicians and seasonal team members.
  • Coach employees on equipment operation, customer interaction, and safety practices.
  • Set the standard for work quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Assist ownership with hiring, onboarding, and developing future crew members.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Serve as the on-site face of the company.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and property managers.
  • Address customer questions and concerns with confidence and professionalism.
  • Ensure every property is left clean, protected, and exceeding customer expectations.

Qualifications

Experience

Driver Requirements

  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
  • Clean and insurable driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working from ladders and at heights.
  • Ability to work outdoors in North Carolina heat, humidity, and seasonal weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, climb, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Experience with soft wash systems, pumps, and chemical application.
