Duration: Initial 2 month contract with strong potential for extension based on performance
Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Position Overview
Seeking an enthusiastic and motivated R&D Lab Technician to support its Research and Development team in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will play a key role in daily laboratory operations, supporting formulation development activities and maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with a collaborative team of approximately 40 employees ranging from entry level professionals to senior technical staff. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with prior laboratory experience who are interested in developing their careers within the chemical and agrochemical industry.
Key Responsibilities
The R&D Lab Technician will support both routine laboratory operations and research initiatives, including:
Laboratory Operations
  • Perform daily experimental setup and teardown activities
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping standards
  • Clean and organize laboratory glassware, dishware, and equipment
  • Assist with hazardous waste collection, management, and disposal procedures
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Record experimental data and results within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Perform first level troubleshooting and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment
Research & Development Support
  • Assist scientists and chemists with formulation development projects
  • Prepare laboratory batches, blends, and chemical formulations
  • Support product development activities related to agrochemical applications, including pesticide formulations
  • Fulfill sample preparation and sample request activities
  • Accurately document work and support ongoing R&D initiatives
Approximate Time Allocation
  • Formulation development, batch preparation, and blending: 50%
  • Sample requests and preparation: 10 to 20%
  • Laboratory cleaning, housekeeping, and waste management: 10 to 20%
  • Additional laboratory support activities and documentation: Remaining time
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Laboratory experience through industry, internship, academic research, or coursework
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals while following established safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience with chemical formulations, blending, or batch preparation
  • Experience working in chemical, manufacturing, agrochemical, or laboratory environments
