POSITION SUMMARY

Barton Malow Company is seeking Project Engineers to join our team on solar & wind projects throughout the state of Michigan and Great Lakes Region. These positions will report to our teams in Southfield, MI and Grandville, MI. This role involves planning, developing, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring onsite construction engineering activities for projects. The Project Engineer will act as a liaison with architects, engineers, and owners regarding project progress and changes, ensuring seamless communication and execution.  Please note, this position will report directly to the project site (as a traveling position,) or one of our office in Southfield, MI or Grandville, MI.


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for resolution and tracking of project issues.
  • Manage all project document control.
  • Process submittals and RFI's.
  • Support Procurement in the distribution of bidding documents and tracking of bidders.
  • Maintain project schedule.
  • Prepare and issue meeting minutes.
  • Assist with planning and managing site logistics.
  • Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite.
  • Receive and review/evaluate contractor quotations for changes and process change orders.
  • Manage plan review and approval process with local and state municipalities.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 4-year engineering, construction management or related degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience or related construction internship experience.
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to be self-directed in problem-solving.
  • Proactive attitude with commitment to safety.
  • The ability to travel regularly across the Great Lakes Region.  Projects are long-term assignments, typically 8-12 months in duration.
