Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct crisis interventions and diversify strategies to effectively manage clients in crisis situations.
  • Deliver both face-to-face and telehealth services to clients, ensuring accessibility and comfort for every individual served.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and all relevant state and federal privacy regulations.
  • Engage in clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive client care and support.
  • Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and seminars to enhance skills and stay informed on best practices in mental health counseling.
  • Ensure licensure remains in good standing throughout employment, demonstrating ongoing commitment to professional excellence.
  • Undergo DC & FBI criminal background checks, maintaining compliance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to junior therapists and interns, supporting their development and ensuring quality care delivery.
  • Offer case management, advocacy, and resource linkage to clients, connecting them with additional services as needed.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and willingness to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including various socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, and ethnic groups.
  • Be a part of the on-call rotation for after-hours services, including weekend and holiday coverage, as part of the collaborative team effort.
  • Conduct intake diagnostic assessments, including developing treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Assess clients comprehensively to uncover underlying issues and craft effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate referrals to psychiatrists, advance practice registered nurses (APRNs), or substance use disorder (SUD) professionals for further evaluation and support as appropriate.
  • Keep meticulous records of client interactions, analyzing data to refine treatment methods and improve health outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with family members of clients to monitor progress, behavioral changes, and treatment responses.
